Best Podcasts of 2017 for Gardeners & Farmers

A curation of the best podcasts of 2017 for gardening and farming enthusiasts.

Below is a curation of some of my very favorite farming-related podcasts being broadcasted right now. They all approach the subjects of gardening, sustainability, and farming with very unique perspectives. The episodes vary in length from twenty minutes to nearly 2 hours and are perfect for a quick trip down the road or a long haul the next state over.

Learn about a variety of topics from experts in the industry. Covering everything from soil health to production techniques, and marketing your crops. Episodes are long, but can be listened to over a period of time. The interview component keeps the longer format of this podcast intriguing and fresh from episode to episode. This is a great resource for anyone considering going into farming, as it provides a transparent view of what daily life is like.

Living Homegrown with Theresa Loe

A curation of the best podcasts in 2017 for farmers and gardeners.

This is a cheerful, lovely little podcast that discusses anything and everything from chickens to composting. Theresa is a wealth of knowledge herself, but also brings guest speakers in for even more expertise. She primarily focuses on urban farming, doing as much as you can with whatever size yard you are working with.

Science Fridays

A curation of the best podcasts in 2017 for farmers and gardeners.

While the topics on Science Fridays vary, they often discuss elements related to gardening and farming and it’s extremely intriguing. Particularly, the episodes on soil health and composting. Every episode they publish is fascinating, IMO, but the ecological topics are what intrigue me most. Beyond farming and gardening, Science Fridays is a great podcast to stir up the scientist in us all.
